Our Story

Welcome to my site! My name is Matt Mikolas. I was born and raised in Nanaimo, B.C. and found my passion in antiques and knives.

I have always been a collector, and have quite the collection of my own interesting objects, but have always sought to have a store where I could share that passion with others. For as long as I can remember, I have always been fascinated with history, and finding things that preserve history in such a way that leave you nostalgic or inquiring about the craftsmanship of them. It’s always captivating hearing the stories behind some of the objects I find; the lives they’ve lived.

If you enjoy such things, you are in the right place! When you go thrifting or antique hunting, you never know what you may find. You could find that toy you had as a kid, a beautiful vase or perhaps a rug that really ties the room together.

Another passion of mine is designing, restoring and creating knives and other bladed tools. Humans first tool was the knife, and I firmly believe everyone needs a blade of some sort. Whether it be a pocket knife, fixed blade, axe, sword, potato peeler or whichever sharp object you desire. I always do my best to have it in the collection, but if you can’t find what you’re looking for, I can make it for you!
